Westminster 4, Deerfield 3

-- Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000 at Simsbury, Conn.

Westminster's winning streak is now up to five with today's 4-3 win over
Deerfield.  The third period began tied at 1-1, but Westminster quickly
changed that.  First Middlebury-bound senior Mike Kennedy streaked in from
the right side to beat goalie Matt Hanson.  Then, just a minute and a half
later, sophomore Adam Swain fought past Tyler Kolarik to score on another
breakaway. And then, two minutes later, junior Mario Caouette picked up a
loose puck in center ice and shot through the Deerfield defense to score
the third breakaway goal in a row.  Deerfield fought back hard with goals
from Kolarik and junior Pat Walsh, but red-hot goalie Phil Lauderdale had
plenty left to seal the win for Westminster, as he had another strong game
with 31 saves.
