Choate 5, Gunnery 1
-- Monday, Jan 10, at Washington, Ct.

A second period power play goal by Chris Snizek, off a deflection of a Jeff
Dwyer point shot,  proved to be the turning point in a 5-1 Choate victory.

The game for the first period was a pretty even contest with the Wild Boars
scoring two early goals by Dana Quinn and Mike Kreger.

James Greco followed with a power play goal to cut the lead to one just
before the end of the period.

The Snizek goal was followed by a beautiful backhand goal on the power play
by Jeff Dwyer, who cut across the low slot, and beat Gunnery's goalie Matt
Pane cleanly to the stick side.  The Choate defense was airtight in the
second stanza and, consequently, did not allow a shot on net.

The third period saw several penalties with goaltender Pane continuing to
play well (39 saves on the day).  His only blemish was a J.R. Bria slapshot
from the point that found a home through traffic in front of the net.

Chris Schod for Choate (8/9) picked up his 8th win of the season, although he
was only tested a couple of times in the opening frame.

Choate has a full slate of games this week: against Canterbury (Wed), Milton
(Fri.), and a rematch at home with Taft on Saturday.
