Avon Old Farms defeated Westminster 5-3 on the strength of two goals each

by juniors Chris Higgins and Bill Magnuson . Westminster opened the

scoring in the first with a Matt Kovacich upper corner shot, but Avon

answered with three in the second by O'Neill, Magnuson, and Higgins.

Westminster countered with an R.C. Schmidt power play goal and tied it up

thanks to a Mike Kennedy shot midway through the third period.  But Magnuson
