Lawrence Academy 6, St. Sebastian's 1 -- Fri. Feb. 4, 2000 at Groton, Mass. Lawrence Academy, behind Bo Christini's 24 saves and a pair of goals from Ryan Stevens, beat St. Sebastian's here today, 6-1. Lawrence jumped out to an early lead when Stevens broke down the right side, picked his spot neatly, and drilled a shot past St. Sebastian's goaltender Dave Cacciola at the 50 second mark. At the 10:30 mark, Tony Voce, on the penalty kill, burst down the left side and beat Cacciola five-hole. Lawrence scored again with 58 seconds left in the period when Voce made a nifty cross-ice pass to Cameron Finch, who was stationed at the far post. Finch shot once, and when the puck rebounded back out to him, took another whack at it. This time he cashed in. At the first intermission, Lawrence was up 3-0 and it looked like the Arrows were in for a long afternoon. However, in the second period St. Seb's came out strongly, played pretty evenly with Lawrence as they slowly gained confidence, and finally got on the board at the 9:05 mark on a John Toffey goal. The visitors pushed hard to get another goal and cut the lead further, getting themselves some excellent scoring opportunities. However, Christini came up big, especially late in the period, and refused to allow St. Sebastian's to make it a one-goal game. . Twenty-three second into the third period, Stevens stuck a dagger into the heart of the Arrows (forgive the metaphor, please) when his wrist shot high to Cacciola's stick side made it 4-1. With 6:29 remaining, Kevin Brooks broke down the right side and roofed it for the final 5-1 margin.
